Miley Cyrus is a true pop culture phenomenon. From books and clothes to purses and guitars. She even has a feature film in the works! And Miley doesn't just play a rock star on TV—she is a multiplatinum recording artist in real life. So much is going on and changing,for Miley says. "But she is having so much fun, and she says that she has been really blessed to work with all the people that she gets to work with."

When she's not taping television shows or spending long nights on the tour bus, Miley enjoys doing the same things as other girls her age. She loves being with her friends. Because she works so much, she mostly does sleepovers and hangs out and plays guitar." Miley says most of her life is just like an average teenager's—she even gets an allowance, and gets treated like a normal kid.

Despite her rock star status, Miley says she thinks she has even less freedom than most kids her age. She has and an earlier curfe, just because she can't be out too late. Her mom wants to keep her really safe, says her dad's not overly protective, but he's a dad no matter what.

She may enjoy the screaming adoration of her fans, but what matters most to Miley is her family. "No one messes with me and my family," she says. "We're so tight. They come first and foremost."

After Miley squeezes in some quality time with her family, it's all about the fans! Before the show, she signs autographs and chats with people lined up to meet her. "Seeing them out in the concert and hearing them sing every word of her songs," she says, that's the most rewarding and special thing that she sees in any of the shows."

Miley's not the first famous member of her family. Her dad, Billy Ray, topped the country charts in 1992 with his single "Achy Breaky Heart." Fifteen years later, his music career is still going strong with his new album Home at Last.

Billy Ray has found a different kind of popularity by playing Miley's TV dad in Hannah Montana. How does it feel to be the real-life father of a teenage phenomenon? "When he read the script [for Hannah Montana], he felt like it was very well written, and I felt like Miley was Hannah Montana and Hannah Montana was Miley," Billy Ray says. "Together they make a really strong package."

Between taping the show and singing together, Miley spends a lot of time with her dad. "It's fun," Miley says. "He's he best friend." But Miley says Billy Ray has an even closer friend, named Tex. Her dad's best friend is his best friend their dog," she jokes.
