At the age of 6, Oprah moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in an area that was considered the ghetto. By the age of 9 she was abused by 3 people who were close to her: an uncle, a cousin, and a family friend. At 14, she became pregnant, but lost the child immediately after birth.

Despite her dysfunctional life, Oprah Winfrey childhood revealed that she was able to skip 2 of her earliest grades and received a high school at a suburb location. Oprah then received a scholarship to Tennessee State University.
